What are the differences between GEN5 and GEN6?
  • There are no major structural changes; the main updates are to the weight and height requirements to comply with FMVSS 213b standards.
  • The belt guides have been changed to plastic (polycarbonate).
  • Due to new labeling and verbiage requirements, some labels must be relocated to the front of the vest.
  • Compliance testing requires the use of the tether and crotch strap. The instruction manual strongly recommends using them whenever possible.
  • The XS size will not be available in GEN6; the weight and height requirements for Small, Large, and Extra Large sizes have been updated.
  • The Extra Large size can only be used with a lap-and-shoulder seat belt, not with a lap-only belt.
